Suikerbos Nature Reserve

My mom loves walking. On the 7th of October she took us hiking at Suikerbosrand. It was so sad to see the devastation caused by the fire. But as with life, new shoots and flowers are already growing.

Granny showing the boys a tombstone. She sure does love Family History

Jesse getting a pep talk from his big brother. By the time we got to the bottom of this hill he told me that he doesn't like mountains anymore.
 A burnt aloe.
 New life...
I had to laugh. The boys watch many documentaries about nature and when they got to the top of the hill they told me that they could hardly breathe because the air was so thin on the top of the mountain. They didn't realise that they were simply out of breath because of the steep climb :)

Leaving a stone on the pile
We all had a good laugh, the wind was blowing so hard that we all lost our hats.
 The beautiful farmhouse on Suikerbosrand.
 All the cows coming home.
The cow herders. My mom took this one.

Guitar

Six months ago Kyle bought a guitar with money that he had saved.  He watched many tutorials and taught himself how to play quite well. A few weeks ago I took some pictures of him playing.  I love them.  And I love the sound of music in our home.

Kyle's Mission Call

A very exciting day for Kyle and our family.  I asked everyone to put their name on a piece of paper as well as where they thought he was going.

A few of the guesses:

The suspense:

I love looking at this one of all the cousins waiting in anticipation to find out where Kyle was going.

Aidan was especially anxious to find out.

Here is the clip of Kyle reading where he is going:

Some very happy aunties and uncles........their old stomping ground.

I'm so happy for my boy and super proud.  He is going to be amazing!
