Happy Birthday to Me

My birthday started early with my neighbour delivering the most beautiful flowers.  She really is a gem!
Logan caught the little ones enjoying a book together.
My visiting teacher delivered beautiful roses from her garden.
The boys bought me a huge packet of Whispers which they promptly helped me devour.  I didn't get very many but that's ok.
Logan gave me an Aero.  We were supposed to go out today to choose and buy some photography equipment that I wanted but with the illness that has beset this house we decided to put it on hold.
Aidan asked me to take a picture of his rhino horn.
Jesse needed to be cleaned up for the millionth time this week.
We spent a bit of time outside as it started to cool down.
 The clouds started to gather.

Kyle made me a brownie cake and Logan iced it with caramel.
The heavens opened.  What a great gift.  It has been so hot around these parts.
 Logan made us delicious wraps.
And I blew out my candles.
There should have been 38 of them, but who am I to insist :-)
Excuse the halo :-)

A lovely quiet day.  Just what I needed.

Construction in my Bedroom

On Saturday Logan and the gardener started with the first stages of our electric gate.  They dug a trench from the house to the gate for the conduit pipe.  At the time I thought, "I hope they get all this done today so that these trenches can be closed as soon as possible.  I can see the mess already!"
Little did I know just how soon I would see it!

It was really bad.  We thought we would be clever and lift up four corners of the comforter and carry it outside but when we lifted it up, the sand was so fine that it had sifted through the comforter onto the sheet.  Can I just mention that I put new linen on the bed yesterday morning :-)

And here is the little rat after being caught in the act.

My Superhero

You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.  And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.  ~Walter M. Schirra, Sr.

This guy is so obsessed with superheroes.  Everyday he asks me if he can take off his shirt so that he can be Hulk.  Yesterday he called me to look at his Superman with a bowtie ensemble.  As I write this he is asking me if he can take his shirt off :-)

Little Brother Joins Them

Jesse has been watching his brothers from afar while they play in the water spray.  He would run through once and then call it quits.  I guess it has warmed up a bit because today he really enjoyed playing in the water.

Midday Nap

It has been a busy week for all of us.  Jesse has finally crashed on my bed.  I think i might join him!

Come on summer!

Aidan's Tooth

At last my boy can start singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth".

He has had loose teeth for four months but he refused to try loosen them or let us near them.

This week I showed him a few youtube videos so that he could see that it is not as bad as he thought.

After viewing a video where a boy got his tooth removed by his dad's clever rocket extraction method, he came to me and said he was ready.  Well I had to let him know that I only have a door to slam but no rocket.  He was ready.....
