Happenings in August

August has flown by at lightning speed.  At the beginning of August I took photos of my good friend Becky and her mom.  Becky's mom had come over to South Africa to visit with her after the birth of her baby.  This photo was taken a few days before she flew back to England.

On the fourth I took a few pictures of the Holmes' new grandson.  They are away on a mission in Ghana and I thought they might like to see a few pictures of the little man.

Blessing day of Becky's little one.

Then for the big event of the year:  Snow day!

Relief Society Women's conference in Benoni.  I was asked to take pictures.  The light wasn't so great but it was a wonderful conference.  Left feeling very inspired.

We had our yearly dose of coughs and colds.  Orin got very sick compared to the others ( I always wonder if it is because of being born prematurely.

Kyle had a birthday.  We combined the day with his uncle's birthday.

My mom made me a new set of bedding.  She is such a star!

We said goodbye to my little brother Jeremy.  He left to go on a mission in London, England.  I felt so proud of him and was glad my boys could see some of the process.

Here is the huge gathering to see him goodbye.  This is just siblings and parents.   Two of my brothers are missing.

Seminary ended.  This was a sunrise picture I took on the second last day.

Long Weekend Happenings

Kyle went to his first Youth Conference.  I dearly wanted to go with but there were youth that needed a lift with Logan.  I am definitely going to fetch him on Monday!
We took the younger boys for a walk in the neighbourhood.
Excuse the filthy, long nails!
While we were walking we came across Ouma and Oupa.
We went with them to go cut some long grass to protect their strawberries.

Logan and I went to see the BYU Young Ambassadors perform in Roodepoort.  This was the sunset along the way.

Christmas Eve Celebrations

 Mid afternoon sleep.
Trying to get a shot of all the boys is quite impossible.  I really love these little rascals!
 Christmas 2010 Family Photo

 I love this one
 And I love this man.
Keeping Jesse occupied during our extended family celebration.
Lara's beautiful christmas tree.

Video clip of all of us singing Joy to the World. I love this family and being able to spend time with them every Christmas Eve.

Jesse's first playdough activity.

Logan and I were busy working on painting out and tidying a room in the house and I made playdough to keep the children occupied for a while.
Jesse was very interested in it all.  He tried to eat a little and then kept on sticking it in his hair.
 Aidan was engrossed.
I packed up a few boxes to take with to the "free market" next Saturday.  Kyle helped Orin to make all sorts of amazing shapes.  They even made a hot dog but I forgot to take a picture.

Give peace a chance

Last Friday our ward had a Sixties evening which I will tell you more about in another post.  For now I am going to show you Jesse's outfit.  We had fun taking these photos of him.

Braaivleis in the Back Yard

A while ago Logan surprised us and bought the makings for a braai and salads. He kept the boys busy outside while I put the salads together. ( I love Logan's face in this one)

Thanks Dad!

Kyle is the master of marshmellows and he doesn't mind cooking for all of us

Mmmmm.....Perfection.

Afterwards, the boys had a shower because they were slightly sticky. (Orin loves to shower)

And then they fell asleep with exhaustion. This is the time I love them most. Sleeping angels with long eyelashes and flushed cheeks.
