This morning Aidan had been sitting for a long time. When he got up he said, “ Mom my foot is sore. I have needles and noodles.”

Happy Birthday to my Sister
They say that age is all in your mind. The trick is keeping it from creeping down into your body. ~Author Unknown
Tannith, thanks for letting me be your second mommy all those years ago. You are a wonderful sister.

The Amazing Race
On Saturday we attended the very well organised Amazing Race. We had a lot of fun serving and helping and running/driving around.
It started at the chapel and we had to get 5 apples into a bucket without using our hands. Thus no picture.
We then went to a members house to scrape, prime and paint a section of wall.
Next we went to bake cookies at Sister Betty’s house.
Then to the Saccaggi’s school to kick a soccer ball into a goal in 3 minutes. Logan did very well. We were all glad it was him instead of us :-)
Then we had to pick up 2 bags of litter around the town. We went to Pioneer Park. Very VERY sad to see the state of it!
Then we had to throw balloons into a bucket
Yay we were the winners!!!!

Baby shower gifts
I had so much fun making baby shower gifts for Delores this morning. I have been scouring the net in search of something easy to do with materials I already have.
I found these cute wash cloths at Heart of Mary.

Sunshine
This is my "depressed stance." When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this. ~Charlie Brown
I am feeling so much better today. Cleaning the house, decluttering, working harder at consistent family scripture reading, playing in the sunshine with my boys have all helped.

Feeling Blue
We have had overcast skies, rainy days and chilling cold nights this week. Not my favourite time of the year. I love Spring and Autumn but it feels like we are already experiencing a cold winter. I need sunshine. Snuggling on the couch helps a little.
On another note, I have decided to end my relationship with facebook. I don’t know if it is permanent, but for now it is something that I need to do. I did not feel that I was spending extraordinary amounts of time on it. (Surely a tidy house is a good sign :-) ) but I have had a lot of snide comments from people about it. Maybe they are right (although right now I am too mad to think they are). I always try and see other’s criticism in a positive light before I write it off.
Anyway, I am sure the sun will soon shine and I will start feeling better. Being miserable doesn’t last forever!

Brother Alex
It was great sadness that I heard of the passing of Brother Alex Paddock last night. What a great man! Our family - and many others - have been touched by his kindness and service.
