Have any of you heard about Pinterest? I have had such fun this past month searching. You have your own personal space to post anything and everything you love. Instead of using bookmarks to try and remember things of interest you can pin that webpage to a board. You can choose your own catergories. You request an invite and it takes a week or two to get an invitation. Or if you are interested you can ask someone to invite you that is already using Pinterest. (You can ask me anytime)
These are just two of the boards I have. So any idea or tutorial I find to make or sew things for boys, I can pin directly onto my "Makes for boys" pinboard.

Our Anniversary
I was sick on our anniversary (and a week beyond that) so we stayed in for the evening. Logan organised with Christl to have to children. It was Jesse's first overnighter so we got to sleep for 8 solid hours - a gift in itself. We ordered food from the Gold Nugget and hired a movie. The food really tasted good even though you wouldn't think so looking at Logan's face :)

Lots of News
I haven't blogged for nearly two weeks and I am missing it. I have so much news to tell and all of it makes me feel so very grateful.
The sale of our other house finally came through and I was spoilt by Logan for our anniversary last week. One of my biggest dreams has been to get a DSLR camera and Logan bought me a Nikon D3100 with three lenses. I have always known that a camera doesn't make a photographer and I realise that I have a lot to learn in this department.
My laptop has been dying a slow death and this week it gave up. Luckily Logan also organised a new laptop for me - all the way from America. It is beautiful.
We have had anniversary celebrations, Orin's 4th birthday, planning our first proper holiday in 4 years, Aidan changing schools. I will try touch on all of these things in later posts.
Here are a few of my photos with the new camera. I took 671 photos in the first 5 days, practicing to shoot in Manual. Don't worry I won't post 671 here :)

For Courtney
When I read your blog post today I laughed. I was going to make bean soup and blog about it, but I forgot to take photos for every step.

Sadness
On Tuesday Kyle came into the kitchen and told me that he wanted to go on his bike to follow some smoke that he could see. I told him not to go too far because sometimes it looks like a fire is close but it could be far away. He came back a few minutes later and said that it was 5 houses down and that the street had been blocked with police and ambulances everywhere.
I went outside and found a Community Policing Forum member to speak to. A house had burnt down in our street.
I felt so very sad for this family. I don't know them and I don't know how to find out where they are now. The house is completely gutted and everything inside (the roof too) looks like it has just melted away.

A video
Well these aren't really his first words, but I was trying to upload the video and it was taking forever. I thought I would try youtube and had to think of a quick title for this clip. Jesse is repeating so many words now and I love watching that mind of his working.
